Three Favorite Sushi Places in and Around Salisbury, NC

Salisbury, NC is one of the jewels in the crown of the Piedmont, and it's also a sushi haven. There are some great sushi places here if you just know where to look. We're about to make the search easy for you! Three Favorite Sushi Places in and Around Salisbury, NC Osaka Japanese Cuisine The name says it all, and this might be the most popular sushi joint in town. The food here is always fresh, clean, delicious, and served up at a reasonable price by gracious people. You'll find Osaka at 129 Statesville Blvd, and they open from 11 am to 2:30 pm for lunch and from 4:30 pm to 10 pm for dinner. Note that on Saturday they are only open for dinner, and on Sunday they are closed entirely. All their sushi is great, but we especially love the Yum Yum roll, which comes with crabmeat and shrimp tempura, tuna, spicy mayo, and avocado. Another winner is the Mr. K, which is shrimp tempura and avocado with tuna, flakes of tempura, and eel sauce. They even do a "Mexican," which is crabstick and salmon with cucumber, wrapped up in a tortilla instead of rice, and then deep-fried. more Katana Katana is open from 11 am until 9 pm on Sunday through Thursday and until 9:30 pm on Friday and Saturday. They're located at 475 Jake Alexander Blvd, and they're serving up great food, beer, and amazing sake in a gorgeous space. We recommend hanging out to try some quality sake with your sushi, like it was meant to be enjoyed, but do remember to drink responsibly and never drink and drive. They offer all kinds of delicious Japanese food, including some plates and bowls you don't want to miss. However, the sushi is what we're here for. We love the Neon, which is shrimp tempura, cucumber, spicy crab, and tempura flakes with spicy mayo. Another local favorite is the Snap Crackle!, which comes with the tempura shrimp, crab, and lettuce, all rolled up with spicy mayo in crispy rice. The Thai-Phoon has salmon, crab, and cream cheese with sweet chili sauce and scallions. Sabaidee Thai & Sushi Bar If that Thai-Phoon roll caught your eye, you'll love this place. Sabaidees is located at 2204 South Main St and open on Tuesday through Thursday from 11:30 pm until 3 pm for lunch and from 5 pm until 9 pm for dinner. On Friday and Saturday, they stay open a half-hour later in the evenings, and on Sunday they're open from noon until 3 pm for lunch and from 5 pm until 8 pm for dinner. The service here is fast, and the food is always fresh and delicious. They have a great take-out menu if you don't want to hang around. We love their tuna and masago sushi, and the tuna sashimi is always done right. If you prefer a roll, give their spicy shrimp roll a try: it's the best in town. We, however, especially love their spicy tuna roll. The Red Dragon Roll is especially good if you like spicy and tuna, with a flair. These are some of the best places in the city, and we hope you'll enjoy them. When you're full, come see us at Cloninger Toyota for the best service in Salisbury!

Does Your Toyota Need a Radiator Repair?

Your car's engine is a very hot place, and it's filled with components that can be damaged by high temperatures. To keep your engine running efficiently and protect vital parts from damage, your car has a cooling system. The radiator is the most important part of this system, but as with any mechanical component, it can get damaged. As your Toyota dealer, we'd like you to know some signs that you'll need a radiator repair. Do You Need a Radiator Repair at Your Toyota Dealer? Engine Temperature Is Too High Your engine runs hot due to combustion and the constant high-speed movement of countless parts. Your engine's normal operating temperature is between 195F and 220F. Although this sounds hot, it's the right temperature for your engine to operate efficiently. If the heat generated by your engine isn't removed, however, the temperature will rise far above the safe level. This will result in serious engine damage. When your engine temperature rises over 185F, coolant is released to control the engine temperature. This coolant will absorb the heat and carry it to the radiator for cooling. If your engine temperature is rising noticeably, this means there must be a fault in the cooling system. Call our service department, and our highly-trained technicians will investigate and fix the problem. more Damaged Thermostat The thermostat is a small valve with a big function. The thermostat controls the flow of coolant in your engine. Once the engine temperature hits 185F, the thermostat notes the temperature and opens to release coolant. The water pump activates and pumps the coolant through your engine at high speed. As the coolant passes through your engine, it absorbs the engine's heat. When the temperature drops below 185F, the coolant returns to the tank, and the valve closes. If the thermostat fails, it will jam in a closed or open position. If the thermostat jams closed, no coolant will be released regardless of the engine temperature. Your engine temperature will start to rise rapidly and your engine can quickly begin overheating. If the thermostat jams open, coolant will be continually released. The coolant will rapidly reduce your engine temperature, but it will become inefficient. Broken Thermal Switch When coolant is released into your engine, it absorbs the heat and carries it to the radiator. In the radiator, the hot coolant enters rows of thin fin-like tubes. Air blowing in through the radiator grille blows across the tubes and cools the liquid inside them. The faster your car is moving, the faster the airflow through the grille and the quicker the coolant is cooled. When your car is idling, there's very little air movement. To keep your engine from overheating, there's a fan attached to the back of your radiator. This fan will come on and blow over the tubes from behind to cool them. The thermal switch controls the fan, and if it fails the fan won't come on. If your car seems to be running hotter than it should, call us right away at Cloninger Toyota.

3 Great Family Restaurants Near Salisbury, NC

Family dinnertime is a great bonding experience. When you go out for dinner, you always need to find a restaurant that caters to everyone's individual needs. Fortunately, in Salisbury, NC, we have a fabulous selection of family restaurants that can supply every taste. These are some of our favorite selections for great food the whole family will enjoy. 3 Great Family Restaurants Near Salisbury, NC The Smoke Pit The Smoke Pit is simple and functional. It's not about the decor it's about their awesome barbecue. While you're choosing food, be careful not to fill up on the complimentary and addictive hush puppies. If you do, you might not have enough space for your main course. This restaurant is a barbecue at its best, and it does have gluten-free options too. As a sharable appetizer, we recommend the Texas Twinkies, made from chopped brisket and cream cheese stuffed into jalapeno peppers, then wrapped in candied bacon and smoked. Sandwiches and tacos are available with pork, chicken, or brisket and are perfect for a smaller appetite. The real meat, if you pardon the pun, of their menu is the Texas barbecue served family-style. Brisket, sausages, pork ribs, and a variety of sides are served and refilled as you need more. Smoke Pit is open daily from 11 am to 9 pm. more El Patron Mexican Grill & Cantina This far from the border, you might wonder about the authenticity of Mexican food. El Patron certainly doesn't disappoint. As soon as you take your first bite, you'll feel like you've been transported to Mexico. Mexican food's flavors, colors, and fresh ingredients have made it one of the most popular foreign foods in the US. With vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options, the whole family can enjoy a great meal together. There are fifteen tapas platters to share, and we like the patron platter with chicken and steak quesadillas, flautas, Texas egg rolls, jumbo shrimp, and their special dipping sauce. The chile Verde pork, covered in their special sauce, is delicious, and the steak poblano is tender and flavorful They also offer family-size platters suitable for 4-5 or 6-8 people. El Patron is located at 1030 Freeland Drive Ste 105. Mykonos Grill Greek food is all about healthy eating, grilled meats, and crispy fresh salads. If you're looking for Mediterranean food, Mykonos is the place to go. Service is fast and friendly, and the smells wafting from the kitchen will have your taste buds dancing in no time. The prices are very good, and they also have house specials. Word of their good food, great service, and fun atmosphere has spread far and wide. The dolmades, with rice stuffed in vine leaves, and the appetizer trio are perfect to munch on while you choose your main course. If you love moussaka, make sure you visit on a Monday or Thursday. How to Tell When Your Toyota Needs a Brake Repair

Good brakes give you the security of knowing when you drive that you can control your car's speed at any time. If your brakes aren't working correctly, every journey has the potential for danger. Your brakes are very important, so it's essential to take care of them so they can take care of you. If your brakes are giving you trouble, come and see your friendly Toyota dealer for a brake repair. Do You Need a Brake Repair at Your Toyota Dealer? Screeching Brakes Brake pads are an important part of your braking system. They provide the extra friction resistance to bring your car to a stop. These pads, however, will wear out. When you apply your brakes, fluid is forced into the brake hoses. This fluid exerts hydraulic pressure on the calipers that are attached above your wheel rotors. The calipers will then clamp against the rotors and bring them to a stop. Each time the brake pads are used, a small amount of the friction material wears off. As a reminder to change your pads, the manufacturers of the pads fit a metal shim into the material. Once it's time to change the pads, this shim will become visible. When you apply the brakes, this shim will scrape against the rotor and make a hideous screeching sound. When you hear this sound, it's time to visit us for new pads. more Pulling to One Side When your car veers towards one side when you apply the brakes, you have a brake problem. Your car should come to a complete stop without moving to either side. This problem occurs due to either a jammed caliper or a blocked or damaged brake hose. Either of these issues means that the brake on the affected side of the car isn't working. An air bubble in the hose or a brake fluid leak can prevent the caliper on one side of your car from working. A jammed caliper pin can prevent the caliper from grabbing the rotor. The brake on one side of your car will work correctly, but the brake on the other side won't work. When you use the brakes, your car will automatically pull towards the side that has a working brake. Boiling Brake Fluid This situation occurs most frequently if you have old brake fluid. It will also occur if you've had to brake often and sharply over a short distance. When you use the brakes, brake fluid is forced into the hoses under pressure. The fluid flows back to the brake fluid reservoir when you release the brake. The more frequently you use the brakes over a short distance, the hotter the fluid will get. Hot brake fluid loses its hydraulic properties, and your brakes won't engage as they should. You'll smell a burning chemical smell, which means the brake fluid is boiling. It's vital to pull over and allow your brakes to cool down. If you have any problem with your brakes, call us ASAP at Cloninger Toyota.
