Salisbury, NC is one of the jewels in the crown of the Piedmont, and it’s also a sushi haven. There are some great sushi places here if you just know where to look. We’re about to make the search easy for you!

Three Favorite Sushi Places in and Around Salisbury, NC

Osaka Japanese Cuisine

The name says it all, and this might be the most popular sushi joint in town. The food here is always fresh, clean, delicious, and served up at a reasonable price by gracious people. You’ll find Osaka at 129 Statesville Blvd, and they open from 11 am to 2:30 pm for lunch and from 4:30 pm to 10 pm for dinner. Note that on Saturday they are only open for dinner, and on Sunday they are closed entirely.

All their sushi is great, but we especially love the Yum Yum roll, which comes with crabmeat and shrimp tempura, tuna, spicy mayo, and avocado. Another winner is the Mr. K, which is shrimp tempura and avocado with tuna, flakes of tempura, and eel sauce. They even do a “Mexican,” which is crabstick and salmon with cucumber, wrapped up in a tortilla instead of rice, and then deep-fried.

Katana

Katana is open from 11 am until 9 pm on Sunday through Thursday and until 9:30 pm on Friday and Saturday. They’re located at 475 Jake Alexander Blvd, and they’re serving up great food, beer, and amazing sake in a gorgeous space. We recommend hanging out to try some quality sake with your sushi, like it was meant to be enjoyed, but do remember to drink responsibly and never drink and drive.

They offer all kinds of delicious Japanese food, including some plates and bowls you don’t want to miss. However, the sushi is what we’re here for. We love the Neon, which is shrimp tempura, cucumber, spicy crab, and tempura flakes with spicy mayo. Another local favorite is the Snap Crackle!, which comes with the tempura shrimp, crab, and lettuce, all rolled up with spicy mayo in crispy rice. The Thai-Phoon has salmon, crab, and cream cheese with sweet chili sauce and scallions.

Sabaidee Thai & Sushi Bar

If that Thai-Phoon roll caught your eye, you’ll love this place. Sabaidees is located at 2204 South Main St and open on Tuesday through Thursday from 11:30 pm until 3 pm for lunch and from 5 pm until 9 pm for dinner. On Friday and Saturday, they stay open a half-hour later in the evenings, and on Sunday they’re open from noon until 3 pm for lunch and from 5 pm until 8 pm for dinner. The service here is fast, and the food is always fresh and delicious. They have a great take-out menu if you don’t want to hang around.

We love their tuna and masago sushi, and the tuna sashimi is always done right. If you prefer a roll, give their spicy shrimp roll a try: it’s the best in town. We, however, especially love their spicy tuna roll. The Red Dragon Roll is especially good if you like spicy and tuna, with a flair.

These are some of the best places in the city, and we hope you’ll enjoy them. When you’re full, come see us at Cloninger Toyota for the best service in Salisbury!
