2022 Toyota Tundra
Drivers looking for a full-size pickup truck should strongly consider the 2022 Toyota Tundra. You can enjoy smooth power and easy-to-use controls on this completely redesigned version of the Tundra. Toyota overhauled everything from the powertrain to the suspension to the interior, making this Tundra superior to the rest. Check out the top features of the 2022 Toyota Tundra that are creating a buzz.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
You can purchase the 2022 Toyota Tundra in seven trims: SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum, 1794, TRD Pro, and Capstone. The SR sits atop 18-inch steel wheels with a sheet-molded compound composite bed to resist scratches and dents and LED headlights. The SR5 adds LED fog lights and opts for alloy wheels instead of steel. You also get the Towing package on the SR5, featuring a Class IV trailer hitch, four-pin and seven-pin trailer connector, and integrated trailer brake controller. The Limited rolls down the road on 20-inch wheels, while the Platinum adds premium LED headlights.
You get ranch style with unique badges and accents on the 1794. The TRD Pro is built for rougher terrain with skid plates and 18-inch TRD wheels with all-terrain tires. Finally, the Capstone upgrades everything with power-deploying running boards, Capstone-exclusive exterior trim, and 22-inch wheels.
Engine (Power)
Toyota offers two engines, depending on trim level, for the 2023 Tundra. Standard on the SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum, and 1794 is a 3.5-liter V-6 paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission for 389 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. The standard engine for the TRD Pro and Capstone is also available on the Limited, Platinum, and 1794. That engine is the same 3.5-liter V-6 matched with a battery-electric hybrid system to produce 437 horsepower and 583 pound-feet of torque.
Performance
Performance-enhancing features improve the drive on the 2023 Toyota Tundra. Rear-wheel drive is standard, with a four-wheel drive with low-range gearing available for better traction and control over various surfaces and conditions. The Platinum features a trailer backup guide system. The TRD Pro has a 1.1-inch front suspension lift, Fox suspension dampers, rear locking differential, and Crawl Control for optimal off-road performance.
You can add a TRD Sport package to the SR5 for a lowered sport suspension. The SR5, Limited, and 1794 are eligible for the TRD Off-Road package with a locking rear differential, multi-terrain driving modes, and crawl control. A load-leveling rear air suspension and adaptive suspension dampers are available on most trims.
Interior
Slide inside the 2022 Toyota Tundra to experience comfort and convenience throughout the cabin. The SR has proximity keyless entry with a push-button start and an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Higher trims add simulated leather or leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front and rear seats, a 14-inch touchscreen, dual-zone automatic climate control, ambient lighting, a wireless charger, and a premium JBL sound system.
Safety Features
Each trim level of the 2023 Toyota Tundra features Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 with a pre-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane tracing assist. You also get an advanced airbag system that deploys upon impact to help keep you and your passengers safe. Available features include a blind spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, a 360-degree camera system, and a head-up display.
