2022 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid
The Toyota RAV4 Hybrid has all the features you love in the RAV4 but with a more efficient hybrid powertrain. For the 2022 model year, a new well-equipped SE trim joins the lineup, and all but the SE trim have newly styled headlights. Several trims also get new wheel designs, and a new exterior color is now available. Take a look at some of the features you'll get with the 2022 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The entry-level LE has 17-inch wheels, LED headlights, LED taillights, active grille shutters, and LED daytime running lights. Step up to the XLE for projector LED headlights, keyless entry, and heated side exterior mirrors, while the new SE has black 18-inch wheels, a sport-tuned suspension, and upgraded headlights. Choose the XLE Premium for 18-inch chrome wheels, fog lights, a sunroof, and a power liftgate, or to the XSE for a two-tone paint scheme. The top-level Limited adds puddle lights to its exterior features.
Engine (Power)
Power for all RAV4 Hybrids comes from a 2.5-liter four-cylinder gas engine and two electric motors. These combine to generate 219 horsepower. One of the motors powers the front wheels and the second powers the rear wheels, making all-wheel drive standard for this Toyota. A continuously variable automatic transmission works with the powertrain.
Performance
The hybrid version of the RAV4 has more muscle than the gas-powered version, and with added fuel efficiency, this model is a win-win. The powertrain accelerates to 60 mph in just 7.4 seconds, and once you get up to speed, the ride stays comfortable. The RAV4 Hybrid also has a suspension that smooths out rough road surfaces, and a responsive steering system.
Interior
Inside, the RAV4 Hybrid has room for five people and a 37.6 cubic foot cargo area behind the rear seats. It comes with cloth upholstery and dual-zone automatic climate control at the base level, but moving up to a higher trim will get you a power-adjustable driver's seat and a leather-trimmed steering wheel. The XLE Premium has simulated leather upholstery, and the XSE has heated front seats. The top-level Limited comes with heated and ventilated front seats and a power-adjustable passenger seat.
Technology features start with a 7-inch touchscreen, three USB ports, Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa, and Android Auto in the LE. You'll get five USB ports if you step up to the XLE and a 9-inch touchscreen in the XSE. Another bump to the Limited adds an 11-speaker JBL stereo. Depending on the trim, you can add an integrated navigation system and wireless charging.
Safety Features
Every RAV4 Hybrid comes with Toyota's Safety Sense 2.0 group of safety systems. This includes a forward collision warning system with automatic braking, lane-departure warning with mitigation, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, road sign recognition, and automatic high-beam headlights. The XLE adds to this with a blind-spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert, and the Limited adds front and rear parking sensors with an automatic braking system. A 360-degree surround-view camera system is an available option for most trims, and you can also add rain-sensing windshield wipers.
