Salisbury Fire Dept. St. Patrick’s Day 5K
Are you ready to show your St. Patty’s Day spirit by joining the Salisbury Fire Department St. Patrick’s Day 5K? Presented by the local fire department, it’s the perfect way to get in on the fun of the holiday. Here are three reasons to nudge you off the fence and into the race!
A Great Way to Stay in Shape
Whether this is your first 5K or your one-hundredth, running a 5K is the perfect way to get or stay in shape and have fun while doing it. Not an experienced runner? No worries: Anyone can run a 5K with the right training, and by starting slowly and learning the basics.
The 5K takes place on the Salisbury Greenway, winding past Livingstone College and the Fulton Street Historic District, finishing at the JF Hurley YMCA. You can run at your own pace, so there’s no pressure! You’ll become a better runner in the process and earn yourself a nice boost in confidence.
Supporting Your Community
All proceeds from the St. Patrick’s Day 5K will go toward the local fire department. We think that’s as good a reason as any to tie up your laces and get out on the Salisbury Greenway. For the men and women who put their lives on the line for the community, why not give a little back?
Even if you’re not planning on running, you can show your support by donating online. The Salisbury Fire Department appreciates every single dollar!
Prizes for Participants
…Did we mention there are prizes? There will be awards for the top three overall male and female runners and the top three male and female masters runners, as well as three deep age group awards. Even if you don’t place, you can still leave with something.
The first 200 registered participants will receive short-sleeve technical t-shirts as a thank-you for signing up. If you plan on participating, don’t wait around: Register today!
